I got back on Monday, but I didn't think to write this before tonight (or this morning, seeing as it's just past midnight). So...
This past weekend has been the best of my entire life. I don't even know where to begin, so I'll begin on Friday morning.
and I waited for three hours in registration, singing pony songs, talking to bronies, etc. It wasn't really boring, but it did cause us to miss the opening ceremonies. Oh well, I'm gonna check them out on YouTube tomorrow. After that we checked out some panels and hit up the Dealer's Hall, where I got a Rarity shirt and a Twilight hoodie. I then used my epic Sponsor Badge to get to the front of the autograph line, and met Andrea Libman, Cathy Weseluck, Shannon Chan-Kent, Kazumi Evans, Daniel Ingram and Tabitha St. Germain. Sadly my camera was not working for the first half of that day, so I did not get pictures until I managed to find some new batteries. That night
and I went to the dance, and got to sleep about midnight.
Saturday morning was hectic. Three words: Mane Six Panel. You would not IMAGINE that crazy line-up. I'm so lucky I was a Sponsor, because waiting in that line would have killed me. I met some cool people in the Sponsor line (maybe twenty people versus a thousand) and then witnessed the beginning of the "Look A Moose!" meme by Tabitha. That panel was amazing. Later that day I met Nicole Oliver and Tara Strong, and got a picture with the latter. I also witnessed one of the most amazing acts of generosity in my entire life. To sum it up: this man donated his most prized possession, a Derpy signed by a bunch of VA's, where Tabitha misspelled her own name, to the charity auction, because his other item didn't sell. The man who bought it then
gave it back to him after purchasing it so he wouldn't have to lose it. After the auction I ran into Natalie Sharp, who gave me hug and signed my print. Then there was Ponystock that night; oh goodness, so much talent. The main act of AcousticMandoMichelle (take a wild guess who that included) was awesome, and afterwards we went down to the other Ponystock, which my dad called the "loud techno party" and partied until 2:30am. Oh yeah, and we met this awesome guy named Dameieon who we hung out with for the rest of the con.
Sunday morning we got up at 9am, but we still got the least amount of sleep because we GOT to sleep at 3am. I waited for a bit in line with
and Dameieon so she could meet Andrea Libman, and I got a picture with her. And then this happened, which if you go to the bottom of the post the whole thing will be described in more detail. I then met Michelle Creber, Claire Corlett, Madeleine Peters, and Lee Tockar, the latter who was so incredibly nice and funny and gave me a hug. Dameieon had to leave soon after that, but he got
's dA name, so he can still talk to us. We then went to our final panel, and then the closing ceremonies, both of which were amazing.
Did I miss anything? I hope not (other than what I'll describe at the bottom). All in all, it was the most amazing experience of my entire life, and I won't soon forget the things I saw and the wonderful people I met. I can't wait for next year. Believe me, I'll be back.
*** Okay, so I went to get a picture with Tabitha because my camera hadn't been working when I met her the first time. On the Friday when I met her, I thanked her for this amazing thing she did for someone I know; this girl named Eevee (not her real name) who runs a Rarity page on facebook, is losing her sight, and Tabitha did a little recording for her in Rarity's voice, saying get well soon, etc. When I went back for the picture, she asked if there was any way to contact Eevee. I said I wasn't sure, because she didn't want to speak with anyone. Tabitha then asked me to email her (she asked
ME to email
HER) so we could figure something out. I did yesterday, and she replied very quickly with the most in-depth and personal thing anyone has ever told me. I can say without a doubt that my life has been changed because of it. She very much wants to do whatever she possibly can for Eevee, even with her busy schedule. I know she doesn't have to do this, but she wants to, and that just... words can't even begin to describe it. That woman is so ethereal, so generous, so... there are no words. I've emailed her back and am awaiting her next reply. I won't share what she told me, because I feel it was much too personal to share with anyone else. Still... no words. I'm in awe. Tabitha, you have my eternal respect and thanks.***
